Opinions please: dealer malfunction

OK Westonites,

I pulled this beauty the other day
and wasn't sure how to "deal" with it.
Dealer is yours truely.
5 players in seats 1,5,7,8 & 9.
Button is on seat one.

On the deal, seat 1 must have grabbed
seat 5's 2nd card as I finished the deal
to the players on my right. I noticed he
had two cards and stopped dealing (reflex).

At that point SB only had one card but was
talking to someone and did not say anything
to me about it. Action proceded as UTG
(seat 8) called the BB and seat 9 raised.
Button folded and SB wanted his second card.

I know your hand is dead if you have 3 cards
but what if you only have one?

What do we do now???

My resolution after y'alls greatly
appreciated insight.

i could be wrong ... but i think that you treatit like you would treat it if you flipped a card over you deal him what would have een the burn card after everyone else has been dealt....

well obviously its a missdeal but since there was already action i believe his hand is just dead, but hey what do I know
