It had a few errors in the wording but it was easy to understand what he was trying to say. It was a good article.

This style of picking up chips without confrontations is absolutely necessary for most, in my opinion. You can sit there and wait on cards and not get paid off. You can sit there and wait on cards and then get bad beat. But, if you've been constantly accumulating in the right spots, it doesn't matter. If you haven't, you're out.

I agree with the strategy and use it successfully when playing online. Especially SNGs. I also tried it at the F5 but you bastards are too good to fall for it.

Damn you all to hell Westonites.

It's funny how online poker has changed in just a few years. I used to play SNGs back in 2002-03, and I used to clean up in them, and I swear to God, I never used to steal blinds until it was 3-4 handed. It just wasn't necessary. All you needed to do back then was wait for good cards, play them aggressively, and you could get to the final four without even breaking a sweat.

Nowadays, forget about it. The problem is the opposite. If somebody in the cutoff or on the button raises, everybody assumes that he is stealing. So, the drama becomes whether the other players will let him get away with it, or whether one of them will just call with their rags or come over the top. There is so much pre-flop aggression in these online tournaments that the flop is almost anticlimatic. Everything is backwards.

Not that I am complaining. It's just that the game develops very, very quickly. Before long, people will be talking about re-stealing blinds being a necessary part of winning tournaments. You can say you heard the concept here first. I guarantee it.

I agree completely. Re-stealing against players who you know understand the importance of stealing is paramount. That said, I don't think the best players 10 years from now will necessarily be hyper-aggressive as some have predicted. I think the pendulum will swing, allowing some to play uber-tight again.

The most important skills are observation and adjustment, as always.
