I'm not a good Omaha player. So, can someone please explain to me why he called that all in bet with 2nd pair and a shitty draw, after the flop?

I think this hand falls into the exact category I was talking about in the other thread where I accuse these guys of gambling for thrills and not playing with skill.

Gus' call was technically right -- he had to call $32k to win $87k, so if he has at least a 37% chance of winning, it's a good call. And after the flop he was at 45%:

pokenum -o 6d 8c qd 7c - 9s ac td kh -- 4s as 7d
Omaha Hi: 820 enumerated boards containing As 4s 7d
cards win %win lose %lose tie %tie EV
8c 7c Qd 6d 365 44.51 455 55.49 0 0.00 0.445
9s Ac Td Kh 455 55.49 365 44.51 0 0.00 0.555

He would have been a much bigger underdog against even a slightly better hand like a bigger pair plus a flush draw, but he must have known what he was up against -- Danes seem to know too much for their own good.

HORRIBLE call by Gus. It's only a "technically right" call if the cards are all face-up. Second pair and a gutshot with no flush draw? In a normal (i.e. non-fucktard-involved) hand, the raise on the flop takes it down. Gus HAS to figure that, at best, he's drawing to a lucky two-pair that holds up or a miracle gutshot that doesn't flush. Shit like this makes me want to take my entire bankroll and sit in one of the big games.

Did you see the hand on "Meyer" a few hands ago? Flopped top set and open-end SF draw - got it all-in and lost to K-high flush.

It's action like that hand that make the game profitable. The guy has 5 outs to a flush that might be no good (he probably thinks he has 9 outs) plus two kings to make a bigger set, which could quite possibly complete a straight for an opponent at the same time.

It was an expensive hand, but I won a three-way pot a little later that was three times that size.

That was the hand I really enjoyed. 78JQ on a 26T9 board. Money goes in against another 78 and TT, river makes ioj a higher straight. SHIP IT!
