My first Straight Flush!

Postby Big Pappy » Wed Aug 03, 2005 8:50 am

I don't play suited connectors very often, but this time it was in a big blind, so I checked with 3h 7h. Only two other people in the pot so when the flop came 5h 6h Kh, I at least had a flush. I bet the minimum. Everyone calls. The turn was a Jd. I bet another $100 (minimum) because if someone had made a higher flush already they would have re-raised. The River was a 4h! I hesitated and was really hopin someone had the Ah thinkin they had me beat. I bet another $100, everyone calls and I had my first straight flush!

It reminded me of losing my virginity. I thought I would feel different, but I don't. Of course, this time my cousin wasn't there. I was wearing protection, though. For you see, I wear two condoms all the time. Then I take one off for sex and feel like a wild man!

technically 3-7 is not a connector.. it is more of lets say a gapper... but more importanly it is a trash hand...

it was great you were able to get in with it in the big blind and ht a straight flush.. .

I remember the firt time i hit a straight flush in real life .. it was at a casino in vegas... playing 4-8... or maybe it was 3-6

I actually knew that. I meant to type that I don't play suited connectors very often, let alone suited "crap". I left out a very important part of that sentence, proving once again that the voices in my head are fairly unorganized in their dictation to me.

So many things had to go right for me to even invest money into that flush, I could have easily laid it down. I guess that's another reason they are so rare.

well once you had the flush i would have bet or raised more than the minimum... you have the flush and maybe they are on a darw with their Ace or queen..

so there is no issue with you palying 7-3 in the big blind as long as you did not call some raise preflop...
