...i'm coldhearted, maybe i'm just in a bad mood.

i was just watching the news and ran a little piece on a guy who was tearing up about how he wasn't going to get to spend christmas in his dreamhome. why? because it was getting forclosed on because he hasn't paid the $2200 a month mortgage payment in 6 months.

FUCK YOU

somethin tells me that if you're anywhere close to being able to afford $2200 a month for a house, you and your family are going to be just fine. I'm sorry that you're being kicked out of your home because YOU'RE NOT FUCKING PAYING FOR IT. if you can't afford it, then you should have never moved your sorry ass in. quit making it out to be as if someone has wronged you somehow. it's nobody's fault but your own.

I thought it was the american way to live beyond your means and expect the government to bail you out?

That is how the rich get richer, right?

After reading this, I'm glad you don't know me better, I'd venture to guess you'd hate me too.

i doubt it. i doubt i would hate this guy either. i'd probably feel bad for him and try to help him out if i could. today has just been a shitty day for the most part. i think i just needed to vent. between blowing up on here and playing a little guitar, i'm feeling a lot better now.

my apologies the the random guy from new mexico who i told to F off.

His plight ain't a whole lot different from what I'm going through.

You know my background. I didn't live above my means but in retrospect I should have saved a lot more. I always thought that you should acquire as many assests as possible. Buy as much house as you can afford because it's a safe investment. Nobody gave me anything and I didn't win the lotto. Through very hard work, intelligence, some risk taking, and some fortunate timing, I had a very nice 15 year run of continual upward mobility. You know the setbacks I've had over the past several months.

My point is this - shit happens sometimes. If you made enough money to buy a house with a $2200 mortgage, you'd probably do it. Just because you were making that kind of money doesn't mean you can't lose your job. Just because you are making that kind of money doesn't mean you are saving enough to cover yourself in a disaster. When you do make a lot of money for a period of time, you get used to it and you expect it to continue.

The very smart people live WAY below their means and aren't beholden to anyone - creditors, bosses, etc. I for one have learned my lesson but it doesn't mean I deserved what happened to me. It probably doesn't mean this guy deserved it either. But it also doesn't mean anyone owes him anything. Time to sack up and dig yourself out.

Hopefully he has friends and family like me that he can count on for support to help him get through his hard times.

This is very true. Just because you can afford something with your current income doesn't mean things can't change later. Especially with a mortgage. You are basically signing a piece of paper that will take you 30 years to pay off (I know it could be less). That's a big deal.

let me go ahead and print my official retraction and apology.

i've been on the shitty end of a lot of bad situations. so I, as much as anyone else, know better than to do something like this.

this, in itself, was insignificant. it was just the culmination of a lot of things over the last week or so and it set me off. i needed a release and unfortunately this guy was the recipient of my tention. either way, it was unnecessary and uncalled for. i need to find a better outlet.

but on the bright side, i'm feeling a lot calmer today.

so, to anyone that was offended, i offer my sincerest apologies. i'll do my best not to let it happen again.

I always find alcohol helps when I feel like this. Just last night while watching electing results roll in I drank an entire bottle of wine by myself. I had also had 3 beers earlier while bbqing.

this crossed my mind. although i don't like drinking alone most times. in the good ol' days, i would have gone to fox and hound and shot some pool.....while drinking alone.

plus, i might be called on at any minute for emergency taxi service. so i'm trying to stay sober.
