Who are you voting for?

Anonymous poll.

This is not an attempt to have people go public with their pick. Just an attempt to get a feel for which way westonites as a whole are leaning. No need to post who you voted for. I think a lot of people have made it obvious which side of the fence they're on, but there are a lot they haven't said anything.

I don't claim to have a great wealth of political knowledge, but the one thing that strikes about this campaign is this. I get the feeling that it's not so much McCain vs. Obama.

It's more McCain vs. "the guy that isn't republican George W. Bush"

or.... "the old" vs. "the new"

That the issues at hand have taken a back seat to the "image" of the candidates. I don't know. Let me know what you think. I'm sure everyone knows which way I'll vote so I'll kick this off.

Again, I want to reiterate that no one needs to post who they want to vote for or why. Just vote.

someone PM'd me to say I should have included one of(or any of) the smaller parties out there.

I attempted to modify it, but I don't know how. I really don't think it matters since it is obvious that one of these two candidates will win. Voting for a third party is an exercise in futility.

I thought I was going to get some votes, but apparently that wasn't real. Maybe next year.

the only thing that suprised me was the 3rd party voting.

I know there are people that don't care for either candidate. but knowing that one will be president, I would think they would at least vote for the lesser of two evils.

I enjoy this. Very surprised with the Obama percentage, being that most of the posts on here are pro-McCain.

3rd Party Candidates have always fascinated me. Some years they are not a factor, but other times they can swing an election (Perot in 1992, Jesse Jackson in 1984, Pat Buchanan in 2000 -- people in Florida voted for him due to the confusing ballot).

I had a feeling this might be the case. That's why I posted. I thought the overwhelming majority of pro-republican post might have kept the pro-democrats from posting. Considering Neko gets railed everytime he makes a liberal minded post, It might have discourage some others from speaking up.

Not to mention that some people just don't like to publicly talk about this stuff. I generally don't like talking politics at all, but at some point, something came up that set me off and i had to respond. but i figured there would be plenty obama votes from the silent ones.

Don't forget Nader, who consistently takes 5-7% which is exactly the polling margin.

No, we can't. However, the "I vote chopz" would have screwed the integrity of the vote because of the people on here. Who could resist?
