| Why is it that everytime VanMan posts since the move, it locks up the thread. A regular thread takes a moment to load, his will lock up IE completely. |

Still here. Got it in the Citizen thread (load time was about 3 minutes).
It's definately strange. I assume I am the only one getting it still. |

well apparently vanman's avatar was broken or not link to an image or something... possibly when i redid the server his image was not copied over ... or the location was not copied over ... not really sure...
anyway i deleted the broken image and asked you to try again... see most browsers if the image doesnt work they go on to the next item.. .but apparently your version of IE sucks.... which isnt surprising.
this site was coded for firefox. |

must be an old version of IG, cause mine worked just fine.
Then again Neko is running a 486 isn't he. I remember he added a 512 ram chip earlier this year and its apparently running light years faster now... |

Actually I added a gig and a half.
And I just did the 486 upgrade to a P1 chip, so I should be good for another few days. |

Serious or joking? If you are serious, I have a shitload of P3 chips I should have thrown away years ago - you are welcome to have them. |

this isnt a shot at you its a shot at how microsoft doesnt follow the rules in web programming... they pretty much dont care about w3c compliance especially when it comes to css.... or well they have in the past i can only assume that tradition continues.
i found this humourous article when running a quick search...
Quote:
Last week, I was digging around for some expert opinions about W3C standards compliance in Internet Explorer 7.
W3c_main_1 While almost everyone agrees that Microsoft's browser has come a long way since version 6, the IE7 team still has some loose ends to tie up for CSS support. Microsoft's Chris Wilson, the group program manager for IE, talks about this in a recent ZDNet interview with Richard MacManus. See also Paul Thurrott's comments.
I wanted to ask Tim Berners-Lee of the W3C to comment on Internet Explorer 7, specifically on whether Microsoft's promises of a better, standards-compliant browser have been fulfilled with this release. I was quite surprised when a representative of the W3C (who is not TBL) sent me this response:
Quote:
Naturally, W3C appreciates when browser makers implement W3C specifications. However, given our vendor-neutral position, it is not possible for W3C to comment on whether a particular browser conforms or does not conform to a set of W3C standards.
OK, I think that makes sense... but how difficult was it to answer my question? The W3C isn't willing to point out who is doing a good job and who isn't? I think the organization could identify, based on hard facts, whether or not a browser meets the standards they themselves have defined.
The whole thing reminded me a bit of the dildo-in-the-luggage scene from Fight Club. "It's company policy not to imply ownership in the event of a dildo..."

I'm kidding. I have a 64bit Turon processor in the laptop and a 32bit Athalon in the desktop (it was the best I could buy before the dual cores).
They are giving me shit about upgrading my ram, since I didn't go to 4 gigs, which I probably should have. But I am a cheap bastardo |
